TIPS FOR POSING MOM AND HER KIDS
Whether you are looking for poses for mommy and me session or a single mother and all her kiddos, this blog will provide you with great cues to capture fun and effortless moments. Mastering how to cue different poses will help take your photography sessions to the next level. There is nothing better than capturing a mother’s love for her children, so let’s dive into the posing tips!
1. TICKLE YOUR KIDDO
This is a great cue to capture playfulness between mom and kid, You can also give other playful cues such as playing peek-a-boo, ring around the rosie, or blowing bubbles. This will help you capture candid moments with genuine smiles and deep belly laughter.
2. GIVE THEM A KISS ON THE FOREHEAD
Ask mom to give her kid a kiss on the forehead. This is a great way to capture a cute one-on-one moment with each child or you can ask mom to kiss one of the kids and have the others cuddle in!
3. RUN AND SURPRISE MOM WITH A HUG
Have the kids stand a few feet behind mom and have them run and surprise their mom with a hug. This cue is great to capture the kids personality and gets some of their energy out in the process.
4. WHISPER YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR MOM
Position mom and kids side-by-side and ask them to whisper their favorite things about their mom. This cue will not just create a great pose for a photo, but a memory for mom! The kid may provide a funny or sweet answer, either way it will be one to remember.
5. HOLD HANDS AND WALK
This classic cue is a way to get a natural looking candid photo. You can use this cue for your clients to walk towards the camera or away from the camera to add variety. If the family has an older and younger child, you can even have mom and an older kid swing one of the younger ones between them!
6. HUG YOUR BABY
Encourage momma to hold her kid close. This cue will help you capture a super sweet and loving moment between mom and her kids. Try capturing different angles, especially if there are multiple kids in the shot so mom can share her love all around!
5. SMELL THE FLOWERS
If you are in an outdoor setting, ask the kids to play with the grass, sniff the flowers, or put sand between their fingers. This is an engaging cue that will help capture adorable moments.
